First meeting of 2013
3January 10, 2013 by bahsqsa
We had our first meeting of 2013 on Tuesday! After checking in with everybody and reading the mission statement and confidentiality policy, we discussed our exciting plans for the new year.
We are submitting an application to do a workshop for GLSEN’s Annual Conference on March 30th (titled “But we’re all allies!”: Why every community needs a GSA). We also plan on attending workshops being presented by other people at the conference.
Another idea we have is to host a prom for homeschoolers. We are still looking into a space, but we’ll keep you updated!
Last but not least, we heard that there were younger children in the homeschooling community that are interested in the QSA but are too young to join, so we decided to make an extension of the QSA for ages 9-12 (or there abouts) meeting about once a month.
That’s all we had time to discuss, but it’s looking to be a great year for the QSA!
Please keep us posted about the 9-12 extension; my 9-year-old will be interested.
